Janet Jenkins is a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana who has always known
that she wanted to become an artist. When she was 13 years old she entered and
won many local art contests. She had the opportunity to visit Europe and see
first hand the paintings of the Old Masters in the Louvre and at the Vatican during this
period which left a lasting impression on her.
She became associated with the Baton Rouge Fine Arts Academy in 1989 and
continued her desire to pursue classical art. Janet works in many mediums but prefers
watercolor and pastels. The variety of her subjects is unlimited and she consistently
pursues her passion to follow the Old Masters.
